Solution: Sustainable lunch Boxes. Owner: Mintie. Circular Strategy: Refill.
Description
Mintie set up in December 2017 with a desire to help people make choices that are kinder to the environment by reducing waste and the use of plastics and chemicals.
They design stainless steel lunchboxes for packed lunches, cooking, and baking that are free of chemicals, easy to clean and are robust. They also have compartments to create balanced portions, are leak-proof and are carbon neutral.
Location
Shoreham-by-Sea, United Kingdom.
Scale
Small start-up, works with a few local factories and suppliers.
Potential circular economy impact
This solution encourages individuals to buy durable and high-quality lunch boxes, which last longer than other plastic packaging that’s disposable.
Reducing packaging will prevent waste from ending up in landfill or being recycled and in turn reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
